Cardi B is prioritising her health after a recent medical emergency forced her to cancel her performance at ONE MusicFest just days before the event.
In an emotional Instagram post on October 23, she shared, ‘I’ve been in the hospital recovering, and I won’t be able to perform.’
The 32-year-old rapper expressed her heartbreak over missing the chance to see her fans, saying, ‘I really wish I could be there.’
Cardi reassured everyone, ‘I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love y’all!’
Her note read, ‘I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at ONE MusicFest. It breaks my heart that I wont get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be thee. Bardi Gang — thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t Worry. Love yall.’
ONE MusicFest showed support for Cardi, stating, ‘Let’s all keep her in our prayers for a full recovery!’
‘Hey #OMFFam! Unfortunately, @iamcardib announced that she is no longer available to join us this year due to ongoing health issues. Let’s all keep her in our prayers for a full recovery! We are working hard to find a replacement at this late date. More to come soon,’ their post read.
The festival is actively seeking a replacement as Cardi navigates her health recovery while also adjusting to life changes, including welcoming her third child with estranged husband Offset last month.
Just last week, Cardi B was in Los Angeles for a nine-day trip, where she hosted a session on X Spaces, sharing exciting details about her long-awaited sophomore album. ‘It's gonna be amazing and unique because everything I do has to be amazing and unique,’ she said, apologizing for the delay. ‘It's not gonna be a crazy delay. It's gonna come out amazing.’
Meanwhile, ONE MusicFest is set to take over Atlanta’s Civic Center, where Cardi was scheduled to headline on Saturday night alongside iconic acts like Earth, Wind & Fire and Nelly.
Other performers included Fantasia, Ari Lennox, Method Man and Redman, Young Nudy, and Larry June.
On Sunday, Victoria Monét will take the stage with Gunna and Jill Scott, along with GloRilla, Keyshia Cole, and Sexyy Red.
Fans are hoping for a swift recovery so Cardi can join the festivities soon!
