Lincoln Center will honor Cate Blanchett with the 47th Chaplin Award at the arts organization’s annual fundraising gala. The award will be presented to the actor on April 25 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
The Australian actor is a two-time Oscar winner. She received the award for her role in 'The Aviator' and the 'Blue Jasmine'.

Lesli Klainberg, executive director of Film at Lincoln Center shared his excitement in a statement and said that Blanchett has given extraordinary performances in films while working with some of the most renowned directors of all time.
The annual awards began in 1972 and honored Charlie Chaplin, who returned to the U.S. from exile to accept the commendation. Since then, the award has been renamed for Chaplin, and has honored many of the film industry’s most notable talents.
