Executive producer Priyanka Chopra shares trailer of Oscar nominated documentary ‘To Kill A Tiger’

Actor Priyanka Chopra, who has made her mark in both Bollywood and Hollywood, is gearing up as the executive producer for the Oscar nominated documentary ‘To Kill A Tiger’.  

Priyanka shares ‘To Kill A Tiger’ trailer 

The ‘Quantico’ actor took to her Instagram this morning and shared the trailer of ‘To Kill A Tiger’. In her caption, she wrote, “Truly remarkable.” The Trailer gives a glimpse of various testimonies as a father takes on the fight for justice for his 13-year-old daughter, who was brutally gangraped. 

Priyanka comes onboard as executive producer 

Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined the team of ‘To Kill A Tiger’ as an executive producer. The actor made the announcement on Sunday as she penned a note expressing her excitement. In her post, she wrote, “I’m so proud to join the incredible team of the Academy Award nominated documentary @tokillatigerdoc , and to announce that @netflix has acquired the global distribution rights to this powerful feature directed by @nishappics . When I first watched this film in 2022, I was immediately captivated by its poignant narrative, depicting a father’s valiant struggle within the judicial system to secure justice for his daughter.” 

Besides Priyanka, Dev Patel, Mindy Kaling, Dr Atul Gawande, Rupi Kaur, Andy Cohen, Anita Lee, Andrew Drawgoumis, Shivani Rawat, Mona Sinha, Mala Gaonkar, Regina Scully, Anita Bhatia, Niraj Bhatia and Deepa Mehta are other executive producers.  

Netflix acquires distribution rights 

Netflix is all set to give a big launch to the documentary globally as the OTT platform has acquired the worldwide distribution rights of the hard hitting documentary just ahead of the 96th Academy Awards.

Directed by Nisha Pahuja, ‘To Kill A Tiger’ is based on a family in Jharkhand. The documentary has won several accolades across the world. The documentary film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, 2022. It was released in select theatres in the US in October, 2023 and then earlier this month, it was re-released.
