Taylor Hawkins, the longtime drummer for the rock band Foo Fighters has died aged 50. However, the cause of his death is unknown.
The band shared a statement on their official Twitter handle saying they are devastated by the "tragic and untimely loss". The statement further read “his musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Many fans and celebrities including Tom Morello, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Stanley took to Twitter to mourn Taylor's death.
Foo Fighters were formed in 1994 by Dave Grohl, who had been the drummer with Nirvana. Hawkins joined the band in 1997. Before this, he toured as the drummer for Alanis Morissette's band.
