The Recording Academy has introduced the first artists who are set to take the stage at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Rodrigo, three of the music industry's most prominent young talents, have been announced as the inaugural performers for the 66th annual Grammy Awards.
According to the event organizers, these three sensational stars are sure to deliver their unique and captivating performances on the prestigious Crypto.com Arena stage on February 4. It's worth noting that these three talented women have collectively won 13 Grammy Awards, including prestigious categories like Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album.
This exciting announcement was made during the fourth quarter of the AFC wild-card game between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers on January 15.
For those who may not be familiar, both Olivia and Billie are among the most nominated artists of the night, with each receiving 6 Grammy nominations. Solána Imani Rowe, also known as SZA, leads the nominations with a total of 9 nods. Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers, and Serban Ghenea are also contenders with 7 nominations each.
Billie Ellish’s Grammy nomination
Billie Eilish's breakthrough track ‘What Was I Made For?’ from the Barbie movie has made a significant impact at the 2024 Grammy Awards, earning an impressive total of six nominations. Among these nominations, five recognize the song's influence on the music industry, with nods in categories such as Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Additionally, Eilish's impactful collaboration with Labrinth on "Never Felt So Alone" from the popular series Euphoria is acknowledged in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. It's worth noting that she has previously won a Golden Globe Award for ‘What Was I Made For?’
Olivia’s Grammy nomination
As for Olivia Rodrigo's 2024 Grammy nominations, the American singer-songwriter has secured six nominations this year. These include Album of the Year (for her second album ‘Guts’), Record of the Year (‘Vampire’), Song of the Year (‘Vampire’), Best Pop Vocal Album (‘Guts’), Best Pop Solo Performance (‘Vampire’), and Best Rock Song (‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl’).
Who is the host?
Trevor Noah is making a fourth consecutive appearance as the host of the Grammys, and interestingly, he's also a Grammy nominee himself this year. He has received a nomination in the Best Comedy Album category for his work on ‘I Wish You Would.’
