Hollywood stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been in the headlines for their high-profile defamation case. Now, the six-week defamation trial has been turned into a movie, titled 'Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial', and its first trailer has been unveiled.
The film stars Mark Hapka as Johnny Depp, Megan Davis as Amber Heard, Mary Carrig as attorney Elaine Bredehoft, and Melissa Marty as lawyer Camille Vasquez. It is directed by Sara Lohman.
Shared by Tubi, the trailer gives us a glimpse of all courtroom drama and chaos. They have also shown the media campaigning outside the courtroom, as well as Depp and Amber‘s life outside the trial.
The defamation case concluded in Virginia on June 1 after the jury found Amber Heard guilty of defaming Johnny Depp in her 2018 Washington Post op-ed about domestic abuse. The actor was awarded more than USD 10 million in damages, while Heard won one of her three defamation counterclaims and was awarded USD 2 million in damages.
Amber Heard has filed an appeal against the verdict that was in favour of Depp.
