Actor and singer Jennifer Lopez, who turned 55 on July 24, celebrated her birthday with a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons on July 20. She shared a video on Instagram showcasing charming moments from the event, captioning it, ‘Dearest Gentle Reader…And a splendid evening was had by all.’
The singer arrived in a carriage and even took her place on a throne, befitting her queenly status. JLo cut a four-tier birthday cake and enjoyed celebrations that featured ballroom dancing and a live orchestra.
Draped in custom couture by Manish Malhotra that whispers of Bridgerton elegance, her gown, an ode to exquisite artistry, was brought to life by 40 skilled artisans over an astounding 3,490 hours.
Each petal and ring-shaped sequin, delicately moulded by hand from over a million crystals, shimmered with preserved hues, showcasing the finest Indian craftsmanship. Truly, a celebration of intricate artistry and regal splendor by the belle of the ball.
The celebration was attended by family and close friends, with Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, standing out in a stunning blue gown with white lace detailing. Long-time manager Benny Medina, her children Max and Emme, and sister Lynda were also present.
Guests arrived in royal-inspired attire, enhancing the regal atmosphere of the event.
Although rumours swirl that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez might be heading toward divorce, he was notably absent from her 55th birthday celebration. His absence was not entirely surprising, given that the couple spent their second wedding anniversary on July 16 apart.
Meanwhile, Lopez started her 55th birthday with a relaxed bike ride alongside her 16-year-old son, Max, in the Hamptons on July 24. The duo rode over to Pierre's French restaurant, where they met one of Lopez’s friends.
Despite the growing distance between Lopez and Affleck, the singer is reportedly close to her stepchildren. She was recently seen in Southampton with her stepdaughter Violet, and the two were spotted embracing as they entered a restaurant.
Lopez revealed that her production company Nuyorican is collaborating with Netflix on a series adaptation of Emily Henry's novel, ‘Happy Place’.
Jennifer's latest film, ‘Atlas’, is her third project under her deal with Netflix. Released on May 24, the sci-fi thriller features Lopez as Atlas, a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst who distrusts artificial intelligence. The plot follows her mission to capture a rogue robot with whom she shares a mysterious past, with her only chance to save humanity's future being to trust AI, according to the film's synopsis.
