Jennifer Lopez is diving into a fresh chapter of self-discovery post-split from Ben Affleck, with zero rush to find new love.
In a candid chat with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, Lopez dished on her personal growth, upcoming film, and the hard-earned wisdom from a tough year.
Now 55, Lopez embraces life’s endless evolution, calling it a ‘lifelong process.’ She playfully adds, ‘There’s no finish line in figuring yourself out—I'm just getting started!’
The singer explained, ‘You have to be complete if you want something that’s more complete. I thought I’d learned that, but I hadn’t. This summer, I realised I needed to go off and be on my own’, as reported by E! News.
Without directly mentioning Affleck, Lopez added, ‘Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be searching for happiness in others. I have to find happiness within myself.’
Jennifer Lopez isn't interested in dating right now, admitting, ‘I’m not looking for anyone. I’m focused on flying solo.’
Reflecting on her marriage's end, Lopez acknowledged it wasn’t what she expected but believes it led her to where she needed to be. Despite the emotional toll, she has no regrets, saying, ‘Not for one second. It almost broke me, but now I see it was exactly what I needed,’ as reported by E! News.
The mom of 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, with ex Marc Anthony, addressed the rumours about her life, asserting, ‘I know who I am. I’m a good person, a good mom, and my loved ones know that too.’
Lopez also explained that stepping back from her career, even canceling a tour, was crucial for her and her kids. ‘It was the hardest time, but also the best, because I got to focus on myself,’ she said.
As for her comeback? ‘I’ll be back on stage shaking my ass sooner than you think,’ she promised fans.
