John Cena drops cryptic post after stunning the Internet with nude appearance at Oscars 2024

Hours after taking the Internet by storm, John Cena dropped a cryptic post on his Instagram account, hinting at his Oscars appearance. For the unversed, John Cena left everyone stunned as he took to the Oscar stage naked to present the award for Best Costume Award. The American wrestler gave the most viral moments of Oscars 2024 and was immediately trending on social media for almost the entire day.  

John Cena’s cryptic post

Cena is yet to comment on his unique appearance at the Oscars stage, he did share a post with no context. His post features an alien character named Engineer from the film ‘Prometheus’. The WWE star contributed to the high ratings of Oscars along with Ryan Gosling’s performance and Oppenheimer clean sweep. 

What happened on stage? 

Jimmy Kimmel introduced Cena as the presenter of the Best Costume Award by hinting that he will appear nude on stage. While Cena was reluctant at first, he soon walked out and gave out the award whilst being nude. 

After announcing the nominations, the crew helped him wear a cloth after which he gave out the award of the 'Best Costume' to ‘Poor Things’. 

Truth behind Cena’s naked moment  

Though Cena appeared to be covering his private parts with the envelope, he was not entirely naked. Behind the scenes pictures revealed that the world-famous wrestler was in fact wearing a beige-coloured robe to cover his private parts.  

Cena’s Oscar connection 

Cena has a connection to this year’s Oscars thanks to his cameo Barbie, which has been nominated for 8 Oscars. On the work front, Cena currently stars in Peter Farrelly’s comedy 'Ricky Stanicky' opposite Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino.
