Justin Timberlake appeared in court after being arrested on charges related to driving while intoxicated. The singer was arraigned on June 18 and released without bail. He was charged with one count of DWI.
‘The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test,’ his lawyer, Ed Burke, told Us Weekly. ‘Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane,’ he added.
Singer Justin Timberlake was arrested on June 18 on New York’s Long Island for allegedly driving while intoxicated, authorities reported.
‘On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel,’ read a statement from the Sag Harbor Police Department.
‘A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition,’ it continued.
The statement further said, ‘Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.’
Timberlake has been on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour since April, starting in Canada before moving through the U.S. Just days before his arrest, Timberlake performed in Miami. He is scheduled to perform in Chicago on June 21, and June 22, before returning to New York City the following week for two shows at Madison Square Garden.
Timberlake has faced several controversies over the years. In 2019, while filming ‘Palmer’ in New Orleans, he made headlines for getting cozy with his co-star Alisha Wainwright, later apologizing for his ‘lapse in judgment.’
Timberlake addressed his wife Jessica Biel directly in his message, writing, ‘I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that.’
