Jeremy Renner continues his resurgence after his snowplow accident and is set to join Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson's Netflix sequel ‘Knives Out 3’, titled ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’.
The film will feature a new murder mystery with detective Benoit Blanc investigating a fresh set of suspects. The cast also includes Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Josh O'Connor, and Cailee Spaeny.
Johnson will produce alongside Ram Bergman, with production slated to begin soon.
Jeremy Renner continues his Hollywood comeback following a snowplow accident at his Reno, Nevada home in 2023. Known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Renner filmed Mayor of Kingstown a year after the accident, with new episodes for the Paramount+ drama series set to premiere next month.
The original Knives Out, released by Lionsgate in 2019, grossed over $310 million worldwide. It featured an ensemble cast including Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer.
Netflix acquired the rights to two sequels for over $450 million. The first, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, premiered on the streamer in 2022, starring Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.
During a recent appearance on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, Renner discussed his relationship with his daughter and the touching message he had for her after his near-fatal snowplow accident in January 2023. While saving his nephew, he was run over by the 14,300-pound vehicle, resulting in over 30 broken bones and a crushed skull.
Renner told Clarkson that his injuries were so severe that he forgot who his daughter was. Upon returning home from the hospital, he saw real fear on her face for the first time in her life.
‘The reality of what transpired really set in,’ he said.
‘What I had done to my daughter, what I actually did to my nephew, to my whole family, that really set in. So, I asked her to wait for me. I said, ‘These are just 38 broken bones, darling. And they’re all going to heal. And I promise, if you wait for me, I’ll be better, I’ll be faster, I’ll be stronger than you’ve ever seen before. I promise. You have to wait for me,’ he added.
