Singer Lady Gaga will not be performing her best song nominee 'Hold My Hand' from Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun: Maverick' at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday night. She will be unable to perform due to scheduling conflicts with her upcoming film 'Joker: Folie à Deux. However, 'A Star is Born' singer will be attending the ceremony.
The news was confirmed by Oscars producer Glenn Weiss.
'We have great relationships with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now, and here we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie. After a bunch of back and forth, it didn’t feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we’re used to with her and that she is used to. … So, she is not going to perform on the show,' Weiss was quoted as saying by billboard.
Gaga is currently filming director Todd Phillips’ 'Joker: Folie à Deux' in which she is playing Harley Quinn. Teh film will release on October 9, 2024.
The 95th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. It will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on March 13 (IST).
