The National Board of Review hailed Martin Scorsese's ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ as the year's finest film, bestowing multiple accolades on the Osage epic.

Notably, Scorsese received the best director title while Lily Gladstone earned recognition as the best actress.

This triumph marks an early surge in awards for the film, following recent commendations from the New York Film Critics Circle and the Gotham Awards.

Annie Schulhof, president of the board, extolled the movie as a "stunning masterpiece" from Scorsese, lauding its complexity, significance, and profound resonance.

The NBR's acclaim for both the film and Scorsese's directorial prowess highlights the compelling and resonant narrative of ‘Killers of the Flower Moon.’

Among the other celebrated works, Alexander Payne's 'The Holdovers' received widespread acclaim. Paul Giamatti claimed the best actor award, with Da'Vine Joy Randolph earning recognition as the best supporting actress.

David Hemingson's script was honored as the best screenplay. The film is set against the backdrop of a New England boarding school during the 1970s' holiday break.

Yorgos Lanthimos' dark fantasy "Poor Things" also clinched multiple awards.

Mark Ruffalo was acknowledged as the best supporting actor, and Tony McNamara's screenplay, adapted from Alasdair Gray's 1992 novel, was praised as the best adapted screenplay.

The NBR Icon award will be presented to Bradley Cooper, the star, co-writer, and director of the Leonard Bernstein biopic 'Maestro.'

The award ceremony, scheduled for January 11 in New York and hosted by Willie Geist, will honor the talented winners.

Further recipients of the NBR accolades include Teyana Taylor for breakthrough performance in "A Thousand and One," Celine Song for directorial debut in 'Past Lives,' 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' for animated feature, 'Anatomy of a Fall' for international film, 'Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie' for documentary, and the ensemble cast of "The Iron Claw" for best ensemble.
