New details in the death case of Hollywood actor Matthew Perry continue to surface. Perry,  known for his role in the popular sitcom 'Friends', died due to the 'acute effects of Ketamine' as per his autopsy report. The report revealed that the late actor was undergoing Ketamine therapy for depression. However, given Ketamine's rapid metabolism, the report hinted at the involvement of external factors, citing, “the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy.”

In June, a report in In Touch revealed socialite and actor Brooke Mueller's involvement in the case. Now, a new report by the publication has revealed that a second celebrity friend could be entangled in Matthew's death investigation, conducted by the LAPD, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

New celeb suspected in Matthew Perry death case

A source told In Touch that this second star, yet to be identified, and Matthew both claimed to be sober but were in fact 'walking pharmacies'. The report added that the duo would engage in late-night chats about their addictions, sobriety battles and personal lives. The police have also found photo evidence of Matthew and this second person at a doctor's office who prescribed Ketamine. The same report mentioned that Perry and this other celebrity pal may have helped each other with drugs whenever their own supply ran low.

The source indicated, “If the feds had either one of their phones — especially [the second celeb’s], because she doesn’t erase her text messages — they would probably find conversations about the drug and ‘How can I get extra?’ Like, ‘Oh, come see my doctor if you need more,’” and “It will not look good for the celebrity.”

Brooke Mueller questioned amid the investigation

Last month, In Touch reported that officers seized an iPhone and a laptop from a [famous] woman’s room at a sober living residence in L.A. and brought her in for questioning. The woman was later identified as socialite and actor, Brooke Mueller, the former wife of actor Charlie Sheen. She was reportedly “in total shock and had no idea what the search warrant was about” when police knocked his doorknob.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Perry had developed a close bond with Brooke after meeting her during one of his 15 rehab stays. A source told the publication that she has been “completely cooperative with authorities,” adding, “It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Perry's death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that,” and, “She’s being tight-lipped about the situation.”

Matthew Perry died on 28 October 2023. He was 54.
