Canadian rapper Daystar Peterson popularly known as Tory Lanez, was found guilty of shooting artist Megan Thee Stallion in both of her feet after they had an argument in 2020.
The Los Angeles jury found Lanez, guilty of three charges including carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm , assault with a semiautomatic handgun and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Lanez is likely to face jailterm and may be deported to his home country, Canada.
After the verdict, Megan's lawyer said 'The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg'. Megan had testified against Lanez in 2020 after he shot at her feet after a pool party.
Lanez was taken into custody after the verdict was announced and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 27
