Evidence is piling up against the music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. A 2016 surveillance video, obtained by CNN, showed the rapper, accused of sex trafficking, sexual abuse and rape, assaulting his the then girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
In the video dating back to March 5, 2016, ‘Diddy’ Combs can be seen grabbing, pushing, kicking and dragging Cassie in what seems like a hotel lobby. Ventura is seen exiting a hotel room, followed by the accused rapper chasing her holding a towel around his waist. He grabs the singer, attacks her and pushes her to the ground. He does not stop and continues to kick her. Combs then grabs her purse and suitcase from the floor and kicks her again and drags her toward a room.
The video matches with the allegations levelled by Ventura in a now settled lawsuit. She had alleged that Combs who was extremely intoxicated, punched her in the face, giving her a black eye. The singer had alleged that she was raped by the rapper in 2018 and was abused by him for many years. She also alleged that Combs forced her to make physical relationship with other men.
Her lawyer told CNN, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs. Words can not express the courage and fortitude that Ms Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
According to Ventura’s complaint, the singer met Combs when she was only 19, while the accused was 37. The former couple were in an off-and-on relationship from 2007-2018. Despite the two reaching a settlement, the details were never disclosed.
This is not an isolated case against the rapper and producer. There are five other ongoing lawsuits against him, accusing him of sexual misconduct and sex trafficking. His houses in California and Florida were raided in March by the Department of Homeland Security.
