Recently, Gomez responded to a TikTok video, addressing the rumours about whether she had gone under the knife to change her appearance.
Selena Gomez is so done with speculations about her look and would love for fans to just calm down. The 'Love On' singer recently clapped back at plastic surgery rumours, asking fans to leave her alone. Recently, the 32-year-old responded to a TikTok video shared by the assistant of a Florida-based plastic surgeon in which she addressed recent online speculation that Selena had undergone cosmetic procedures.
While Selena has been vocal about her struggle with lupus, an auto-immune disease, which often leaves her face swollen, the online scrutiny against her looks has been brutal. Fed up with the commentary on her appearance, Selena commented, "Honestly, I hate this. The 'Only Murders in the Building' star went on to say she was "on stripes because of flare up" and added, "I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone."
Following Selena's outburst in the comment section of her video, the TikToker, who goes by the name Marissa Barrionuevo, posted an apology note. “You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don’t look the same as what you did when you were a teenager or in your 20s,” said the creator. Responding to it in the comment section, Selena wrote, "I love you. Not about you. I just get sad sometimes."
Selena was diagnosed with lupus in 2014. The autoimmune disorder comes with symptoms such as joint paint. Following her lupus diagnosis, Selena underwent a kidney transplant in 2017. In January, she addressed fan concerns regarding her health via the TikTok platform, saying, “I shake because I medicate lupus”. The Emmy-nominated actor often uses her social media to promote body positivity.
