Selena Gomez reacts to the return of Disney’s ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’: ‘We are back!’

Selena Gomez starrer ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ is getting revived. Disney shared the news and the first look of the new show, which will premiere in the coming fall on Saturday. Gomez, who was seen as Alex Russo in the original series, could not hold her excitement as Disney made the official announcement.  

‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ is coming back! 

Sharing the update, Disney shared a collage of two pictures. While the first image showed Gomez leaning her head on David Henrie’s shoulder, the second one had Gomez and Henrie recreating the same pose. The caption of the post read, “The new Wizards of Waverly Place series is coming this fall!” 

Earlier Disney had teased the new series with a close-up image of the script of ‘Wizards’ with a toy wand placed over it. Following which, Henrie shared a picture of him with Selena and the writers Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff. 

Selena’s reaction to ‘Wizards’ announcement 

Selena and her co-star in the show, David Henrie took to Instagram to express their excitement. Taking to the comment section, Gomez wrote, “WE ARE BACK!! SOOOO GRATEFUL.” Henrie on the other hand, shared the news on his Instagram stories and wrote, “with Old man with magic wand … CAN’T WAIT!!! See you this Fall!” 

More details about ‘Wizards’ 

The sequel series, which has been titled ‘Wizards’, will star Gomez and Henrie as well as some new members. According to Deadline, Selena Gomez will make a guest appearance while Henrie will reprise his role.  Gomez and Henrie are also the executive producers of the show.  
The production of the series is all set to begin in April. The show will premiere in Autumn and will be available on Disney+.
