Actor Sophie Turner, in a recent interview, opened up about her divorce with singer Joe Jonas and her experience as part of the Jonas family.
Married to the Jonas Brothers—Joe, Nick, and Kevin—Sophie, Priyanka Chopra, and Danielle Jonas were frequently seen accompanying their spouses on tour. Sophie expressed her discomfort with being categorized solely as ‘the wives’ but clarified that Joe never treated her that way.
Talking to British Vogue, Sophie said, ‘There was a lot of attention on the three brothers, and the wives. Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that.’
Sophie said that the three women were somehow perceived as ‘groupies.’
‘It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that’s nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band,’ she said.
Sophie, Priyanka, and Danielle starred in the music video for ‘Sucker,’ which marked the Jonas Brothers' reunion. As the band toured extensively after releasing the Happiness Begins album, the trio became known as the J-Sisters.

She further revealed in an interview with British Vogue 15 that she wasn't initially certain about embracing motherhood at a young age. Turner recalled discovering her pregnancy with her eldest child, Willa, during a retreat in Bali.
‘It was my first day there and I was meeting my roommate for the first time. Before we settled down to chat, I told her that I just needed to go and take a pregnancy test,’ she shared.
‘I took the test and was like: ‘I’m pregnant, so nice to meet you!’,’ she added.
Reflecting on her discovery, Turner shared that she took a week to ponder the situation and consulted therapists during the retreat before confiding in Jonas upon her return
‘I remember throwing the pregnancy test at him, saying ‘What do you think we should do? Do you think we should have it?’’ Turner explained.
‘When you’re in your early 20s, life is so frivolous. At that point, I really didn’t know if I wanted to be a mother, but something changed in me that day. I just knew I had to have her,’ she added.
Turner and Jonas welcomed Willa in July 2020, followed by their daughter Delphine, 22 months later, in July 2022. Turner told the outlet that it’s been ‘a real miracle to just watch them grow up in front of your eyes,’ noting that ‘everything changes so quickly’ as her kids continue to grow up.
The former Game of Thrones star elaborated that their hectic schedules motivated their choice to expand their family. ‘Due to our extensive traveling, I desired for Willa to have a sibling,’ she revealed. ‘I wanted them to have each other. They bring so much joy, are complete girly-girls, and brighten up my life,’ she added.
Turner shared that motherhood profoundly impacted her relationship with her body, particularly after grappling with an eating disorder. ‘I remember after I had my baby, my therapist asked me how I felt in my body. And of course, I was like, ‘Well, there’s milk leaking from my breasts and I’ve been bleeding for a month,’’ Turner stated.
‘Then she reminded me how amazing it is that our bodies can do this and how important it is to put all the nutrients in your body so that it can do that. I mean, it sounds so simple, but I never thought of my body in that way before,’ she stated.
In September 2023, Jonas initiated divorce proceedings after four years of marriage to Turner. Subsequently, Turner filed a lawsuit, urging for their daughters to return to the U.K. She claimed Jonas hindered their travel to England. A representative for Jonas clarified that a Florida court order prohibited the children's relocation during the divorce process. In October 2023, Turner and Jonas agreed to refrain from taking the children out of the U.S., reaching a temporary custody agreement.
