It's not every day that one can manage to crack a joke about Taylor Swift and at the same time make her laugh. However, Trevor Noah is not your average comedian. He's a cool comedian. Trevor, who assumed the charge as the host at the 66th Grammys, was his quirky best self when he pulled off an NFL joke, leaving Miss Americana gushing.
As Taylor made a startling appearance at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles with her collaborator Jack Antonoff, Noah chipped, “Are you seeing what's happening right now? As Taylor Swift moves through the room, the local economy around those tables improves.”
He then went on to reference the recent backlash from NFL fans who had complained about the 'Folklore' crooner being given too much screen time during the game of her boyfriend Travis Kelce. “I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras panning Taylor Swift like she’s controlling the cameras at the game. Just let her live!” Noah said.
He then went on to solemnly swear that he would get revenge on behalf of Swift by doing the opposite, saying, “Every time they mention Taylor Swift, I’m going to cut the cameras on someone who plays football. Cut, bam." The camera then switched to former NFL player and actor Terry Crews, who appeared clueless about the entire fiasco. Nevertheless, TayTay was having a ball throughout the entire conversation. She also went to appreciate Noah's hosting skills when she accepted the award for Album of the Year for her surprise release, "Evermore.”. “Thank you so much, Trevor. You’re amazing,” she said.
In other updates, Taylor Swift set the Swiftie world on fire by announcing a brand-new album, "The Tortured Poets Department," during the Grammys. The new album will be released in April.
