Actor Danny Masterson, best known for his role in ‘That 70s Show’, has been convicted of raping two women at his Hollywood Hills home. He faces a potential sentence of 30 years to life in prison on the two charges.
As he was taken into custody, Masterson's wife, actor and model Bijou Phillips wept, while a group of family and friends sat stone-faced.
Masterson will be held without bail until he is sentenced. Judge has asked Masterson and his lawyers to return to court on August 4 for a hearing.
Danny Masterson was accused of raping three women between 2001 and 2003. The jury convicted him of raping two women in 2003, but could not reach a verdict on an allegation from November 2001 involving a former girlfriend.
In November, Masterson’s trial ended with a hung jury. The majority had voted to acquit him on all three charges. The actor had pleaded not guilty to the rape charges.
Masterson got his break-out role in the 1998 to 2006 television comedy series ‘That '70s Show’ in which he played a rebel adolescent. The show also starred Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Topher Grace.
Masterson had reunited with Kutcher on the 2016 Netflix comedy ‘The Ranch,’ but was written off the show when an LAPD investigation was revealed in December 2017.
