According to Ramesh Bala, the Entertainment Industry Tracker, the film earned a total of ₹15 crore on its opening weekend in India. The film, which is the much-awaited sequel to the 1986 film, 'Top Gun,' received a 10-minute-long standing ovation at its grand premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

According to Paramount Pictures, the sequel earned around $124 million in ticket sales in the North American theatres and its worldwide total is $248 million.
Speaking with the Associated Press, Chris Aronson, Paramount's president of domestic distribution, said, 'These results are ridiculously, over-the-top fantastic. I'm happy for everyone. I'm happy for the company, for Tom, for the filmmakers.'
