US comedian Jay Leno reportedly suffered severe facial burns after his car burst into flames in the garage of his Los Angeles house. He was admitted to a hospital following the incident, and he had to cancel his performance scheduled for Sunday night, according to PEOPLE magazine.
Jay Leno was scheduled to perform at a financial conference in Las Vegas on November 13.
The cause and the circumstances of the fire are not clear yet.
In a statement to Variety, the former ‘The Tonight Show’ host said he got some serious burns from a gasoline fire, but he is ok and needs a week or two to get back on his feet.
Jay Leno is known to have a collection of more than 200 cars. People magazine was the first to report the news of Leno’s health.
Jay Leno is one of the most celebrated comedians in the US who became popular for hosting TV show ‘The Tonight Show’, which he quit in 2009. One of the most recent shows hosted by him was ‘You Bet Your Life’ in 2021.
