Janhvi Kapoor, who is all, geared up for her Telugu debut with ‘NTR 30’, says she has learned a lot from her mother’s choices. She says she has grown up hearing her mother’s outlook on cinema.
At the India Today Conclave, Janhvi opened up on Sridevi choosing Lamhe at the peak of her career. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film did not do well at the box office. When Jahanvi was asked if she also made career decisions like her mother. She said, ‘She is my mom, and I’ve grown up hearing what her outlook on cinema is, learning from her taste in films, her take on her art…’
She added, ‘Inherently I’ve imbibed some aspects of that. A lot of it also has to do with the fact that I don’t like being put in a box. I like to take the route that’s less predictable, and learn from it. It would come very naturally for me to do the glamorous roles, where I can come in and do two-three comedy scenes and dance. And I’m dying to do those kind of roles, because I think it’s a lot of fun, and it gains a lot of popularity among the masses. But that’s what everybody expected me to do, so I felt the need to do complete opposite for a while, and now I’m thinking.’
Other than ‘NTR 30’ with Jr NTR, Janhvi also has ‘Bawaal’ and ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ in pipeline.
