American filmmaker JJ Abrams presented SS Rajamouli at the sold-out IMAX screening of RRR. Abrams said he was a big fan of Telugu films and that it was his privilege to present Rajamouli.

The screening happened in Los Angeles despite the heavy rains and flooding. The tickets of the film were sold out in 98 seconds from the time it went on sale.

Abrams has directed Hollywood films like ‘Mission: Impossible III’ (2006), ‘Star Trek’ (2009), ‘Super 8’ (2011) and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015). He thanked the crowd and shared ‘I'm honoured to be here for a film I love and a filmmaker I so admire.’

Fans and the attendees at the event have shared the video on their social media handles.

Abrams also shared his amusement on the fact that Rajamouli had completed the direction for the movie in just 328 days.

‘This movie is incredible and I love it. I love his exuberance, I love his friendship, I love his heart. I love what it says about fighting for what's right. I love the music, the setting, the fever dream madness of this movie is more fun that you'll have in theatre that you can imagine than any other film. It's so wonderful,’ he said.

Rajamouli talked about ‘RRR’ and said, ‘To everyone who hasn’t seen the film, I apologize on behalf of those who have seen the film. They’re a rowdy bunch.’

The film is in talks for its nominations at the 80th edition of Golden Globes 2023 in two categories and the Oscars as well.
