Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Joram’, directed by Devashish Makhija, will be screened at the 52nd Durban International Film Festival in July and at the Sydney Film Festival next week. The film has been selected for the ‘in competition’ section at the event.
Taking to Instagram, Manoj shared a few stills of the film and wrote, ‘Joram continues to break boundaries, this time with its selection in the ‘official competition’ at the prestigious @durbaninternationalfilmfest. Our excitement knows no bounds!’
‘Joram’ is a psychological thriller which is set in Jharkhand. The movie talks about the various social injustices faced by the tribal communities of the state.
Besides Manoj Bajpayee, the film also features Zeeshan Ayyub, Smita Tambe, and Megha Mathur in important roles. Tanishtha Chatterjee and Rajshri Deshpande have special appearances in the film.
Earlier, ‘Joram’ premiered at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). It was also a part of the National Film Development Corporation’s (NFDC) Film Bazaar.
