Nag Ashwin's ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, had a historic opening at the Indian box office. According to Sacnilk.com, the dystopian sci-fi spectacle collected ₹95 crore on its opening day. This impressive figure marks the biggest opening day in the history of Indian cinema, surpassing the previous record set by ‘Jawan.’
According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ earned ₹95 crore in India on its first day across all languages, based on early estimates. The film collected ₹64.5 crore nett in Telugu, ₹4 crore nett in Tamil, ₹24 crore nett in Hindi, and ₹2.2 crore in Malayalam. These opening day figures have surpassed the previous record held by Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Jawan’ last year, which had minted ₹65.5 crore on its opening day.
The report also mentioned that the film had an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 85.15 percent on June 27.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ follows the story of Bhairava, a bounty hunter with the grand ambition of establishing a life for himself in the Complex. The plot unfolds as he crosses paths with Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and SU-M80 (Deepika Padukone). Kamal Haasan portrays Supreme Yaskin, the ruler of the Complex. The film also features cameo appearances from stars including Mrunal Thakur, Anna Ben, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Brahmanandam.
