Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, is one of the most-anticipated films of this year. On May 22, the makers hosted a grand event in Hyderabad that was attended by the lead actor, Prabhas.

The Telugu star made a grand entry at the event, driving a sports car amid fireworks and cheering fans. He then introduced the audience to a new character in the film, Bujji – a tiny robot.

The video featured Bujji interacting with and pestering the developers, urging them to speed up his construction, including the film's director, Nag Ashwin. They describe him as a ‘very smart, exciting, and toughest’ addition to the film.

According to Nag Ashwin, Bujji is controlled by the brain and is revealed to be a futuristic car. Keerthy Suresh provides the voice-over for Bujji’s character.

More about the film

Earlier, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ introduced megastar Amitabh Bachchan's character, Ashwatthama, through a monumental projection at Nemawar, Narmada Ghat in Madhya Pradesh. The choice of Nemawar and Narmada Ghat for this event is highly significant, as it is believed that Ashwatthama still roams the area, increasing anticipation for both the film and Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal of the character.

Touted as the biggest Indian film of the year, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a multilingual project directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The magnum opus garnered significant attention with its groundbreaking debut at San Diego Comic-Con last year, earning widespread global acclaim. Alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, the film also features Deepika Padukone in a lead role.

Prabhas’ work front

In addition to ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ Prabhas has ‘Salaar 2’ in his pipeline. The film’s first part was released in December 2023 and it earned over Rs 500 crore at the global box office.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, it also starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. The makers of ‘Salaar’ have confirmed the sequel, revealing that it will explore the impact of the political scenario in Khansaar, focusing on the fallout between two best friends, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj, who become the biggest enemies.
