K-pop has solidified its global dominance at the recently held MTV Europe Music Awards 2024. BTS singer Jimin, BLACKPINK star Lisa and girl group LE SSERAFIM marked significant victories.
Jimin bagged the award for Best K-pop at the 2024 EMAs, thanks to his album ‘MUSE’. The BTS star has been able to dominate the charts despite being away for the mandatory military service.
After making big strides at the VMAs, Lisa marked big milestone at the EMAs by winning two awards- ‘Biggest Fans’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ for her song ‘New Woman’. Earlier, Lisa performed and won the ‘Best K-pop’ award for her song ‘Rockstar’.
LE SSERAFIM joined the winners’ club with the ‘Best Push’ awards and also set the stage on fire with their energetic debut performance. The South Korean girl group is having a successful year with their new mini-album ‘Crazy’ and Coachella debut.
Besides the K-pop artists, Taylor Swift, Tyla and Sabrina Carpenter were among the other major winners. The TTPD songstress swept the EMAs and bagged trophies for ‘Best Artist’, ‘Best Live’, ‘Best US Act’ and ‘Best Video’. The star-studded awards night took place at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England.
