BTS' Kim Seokjin aka Jin is finally home! The singer was discharged from his mandatory military service on June 12. The OT7 reunited as RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook, and V took a leave from their soldier duties to celebrate Jin's return. After an emotional reunion with his fellow bandmates, the 'Astronaut' singer held a live session with fans on Weverse where he opened up about numerous topics, including his time at the base camp, and his future plans.
Soon after his discharge and an OT7 Reunion, Jin came live on Weverse to greet his fans across the globe. It marked his first live session in 18 months of his military service. However, the special moment was when the interrupted platform crashed due to insane traffic on the platform as over 2 million viewers flocked in to watch the BTS member live.
Fans were glad to know that despite the challenging military journey, Seokjinnie managed to keep his goofy side alive. Channeling his ever-confident persona, the World Wide Handsome said that he looks more handsome but his face looks a bit puffy due to all the crying he did during his discharge ceremony. He added how everyone at the HYBE building greeted him and even showed him the huge flower bouquet he was gifted by fans.
On June 13, Jin will hold an in-person meet and greet session with fans, with some lucky ARMYs getting the chance to hug the 'Epiphany' singer. Jin revealed that this was something he had wanted to do for a long time, and now that he's here and so is FESTA, it seemed like the right time to materialise his plan. He said that the agency was initially against the idea as it would mean attracting a huge crowd and some fans may go overboard with the excitement. He eventually managed to convince the managed and even made them expand the event, making it 1000 hugs instead of 30 as initially proposed.
The BTS hyung also opened up about his time in the military, sharing how he developed a close-knit bond with his fellow comrades. The singer mentioned that before his discharge, he asked his friends in the army to not cry, but they ended up shedding tears when he was leaving. He also boasted about his achievements in the military, proudly showing his award for completing the service. In his typical Jin fashion, he went on to add that he was very famous in his division as he went on to read their letters to him. He also mentioned that he had to censor some stuff, particularly the name of a girl group, that was written on a poster made by his friend in the army.
Towards the end of his live session, Jin opened up about his plans. He noted that she has not given much time to singing in the last year, but he revealed that he plans to come up with something on the music front super soon.
Jin is the first member of the boy band to be discharged from the military. All seven members of the group are expected to reunite in 2025.
