BTS singer V aka Kim Taehyung recently had fans gasping for air.  The Layover hitmaker, who is currently completing his military training, took a break from his soldier duties and gatecrashed a Kakao group chat hosted by BTS fans. Given the impromptu nature of the event, fans found it difficult to believe that it was indeed V who joined their chat. The singer then sent a mirror selfie to the group to prove his identity. The account has stunned fans who are in equal part shocked and amused at V's recent activities. Many are also of the view that V had planned this surprise on the first anniversary of his debut album, 'Layover'.

“Whoa, there are so many people now!” he messaged the group. After checking in on the fans, he excused himself from the chat. “But it seems like there’s waaay too much, like 90,000 messages. Take care, everyone! I’ll drop by again. I gotta go work out now!” he said.

In a Weverse post later, V wrote, "Hey, there was a photo put up in front of the military camp that I saw while running, my face became red on seeing it. When asked how he was doing, V responded playfully, 'Heh... it's card (cutely)... I came to get some energy... I will come back again next time." The adorable exchange has sparked a wave of affection among fans, who couldn't stop gushing over his buffed-up physique.

V began his military service began on December 11, 2023. The singer completed his basic training as an active-duty soldier and is currently assigned to the 2nd Division Military Police Corps. He is expected to be discharged in 2025.
