Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo in talks to star a new drama, to be helmed by 'Coffee Prince' director

Hallyu superstars, Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo, are teaming up for a new drama. Created by the makers of 'Coffee Prince', the upcoming drama will be a modern period piece. The report first surfaced on Wednesday evening, suggesting that Gong Yoo is considering a leading role in a project written by renowned scriptwriter No Hee-kyung. Previously, it was also reported that Song Hye Kyo is positively in talks to star in the same drama. Now, more details related to the new venture have surfaced. Scroll ahead to know more. 

Song Hye Kyo-Gong Yoo team up for a new drama: 

South Korean acting heavyweights Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo are reportedly in talks for a new drama. A representative from Gong Yoo's agency, Management SOOP, confirmed the news stating, "He is currently reviewing it." K-media reports also indicated that Song positively contemplates her association with the same project.

The K-drama is a modern historical story depicting people's real-life experiences in the broadcasting industry. The plot will centre on the passion of those who lived through a turbulent historical period while seeing the emergence of South Korea's entertainment industry. More about the drama: The project will be directed by the acclaimed director Lee Yoon Jung, known for her acclaimed works such as 'Coffee Prince', 'Cheese in the Trap', and 'The Lies Within'.
