BTS member Jungkook, currently serving his mandatory military duty, is in the spotlight again for reaching a new career milestone.
His solo debut album, GOLDEN, has achieved silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), an honour awarded to albums selling 60,000 copies.

This recognition makes Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to receive this accolade in the UK.

Previously, he became the first K-pop solo artist to earn silver for his hit single ‘Seven,’ featuring Latto.

Despite his temporary hiatus from the music scene, Jungkook is preparing to release a documentary titled ‘JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL’, offering fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation and release of ‘GOLDEN’. The documentary is set to premiere worldwide on September 18.

Sharing the official album poster, the BRIT Awards announced, ‘GOLDEN, the album by Jung Kook, is now BRIT Certified Silver.’

In addition to Jungkook’s achievements, his group BTS also made history when their album ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ earned gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 2020.

Released in 2018, it was the first predominantly Korean album to achieve this milestone.

BTS has also secured three silver certifications for their albums ‘Map of the Soul: 7’, ‘Map of the Soul: Persona’, and ‘Love Yourself: Tear’.

Additionally, their hit song ‘Boy with Luv’ received a silver single certification.

On the solo front, Jungkook became the first South Korean artist to collaborate on the FIFA World Cup official soundtrack, Dreamers, in 2022. He also performed at the tournament’s opening ceremony. His debut solo single, Seven, shattered records by debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. charts. The track swiftly became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. His follow-up single, 3D featuring Jack Harlow, debuted at number five on both the Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

Currently serving in the South Korean army, Jungkook is expected to be discharged in June next year.
