Despite his absence due to military enlistment, BTS singer V is making sure that his ARMYs keep him in their minds always. Kim Taehyung aka V has announced his next project, TYPE 1. He dropped the first poster teasing it and ARMYs across the globe are yet to recover.
BTS’ label BigHit Music took to social media to announce V’s next project. Taking to X, the agency shared the first poster of ‘TYPE-1’ which features V in a shirtless avatar. “V ‘TYPE 1’ Poster. Pre-order: 2024.6.27. 11 AM (KST) Release: 2024.7.9. (KST),” wrote BIgHit Music in the caption.
Leaning against a wall, the ‘Love Me Again’ singer looked like an anime main character in the poster. On top of the monochromatic poster, lyrics from V’s song ‘Scenery’ were written. The lines read, “I still wonder, wonder beautiful story, I still wonder best part. I still wonder, wonder next story, I want to make you mine.”
Completely caught off guard, BTS fans were scrambling for words to express their feelings. The release date of ‘TYPE 1’ is July 9, which also marks the day when ‘ARMY’ was given the official name of the fandom, making it even more special for the fans.
As soon as the poster was shared, ARMYs began discussions on whether V’s next project is a single, an album or a photobook. Some ARMYs dug out V’s quote about ‘BTS' Chapter 2 being not about taking off their shirts’, to further add to the discussion.
For the unversed, BTS has been on a hiatus owing to their mandatory military duty, however, the members have been releasing various solo projects. V’s solo music includes songs like, ‘Scenery’, ‘Winter Bear’, ‘Sweet Night’ and ‘FRI(END)S’. The singer made his official solo debut with the album titled ‘Layover’ in 2023.
The BTS singer is currently completing his mandatory military service. He was enlisted in December 2023 with group’s leader RM. He is serving under the Special Task Force of the Military Police Corps. The singer was recently spotted during a patrolling, where fans got a glimpse of his buffed physique. Later he reunited with his bandmates to welcome eldest member Jin after his military discharge. V’s new avatar in the group picture became a huge point of discussion among fans.
