South Korean actor Song Ha Yoon, known for her role in ‘Marry My Husband’, has landed in a big controversy. The actor has been accused of school bullying and violence. Following the allegations, the actor has also confirmed that she was expelled from her school due to bullying. Here are all the developments that have unfolded in the last two days.
The controversy started as JTBC reported allegations of school violence against a prominent actor. The accuser, who identified as a former schoolmate of the actor, claimed that the actor slapped them continuously for 90 minutes without explanation. The news report was accompanied with blurred-out pictures of Song Ha Yoon, which were quickly recognized by the Netizens. The allegations led to widespread online criticism of the actor and demand for clarification.
Song Ha Yoon’s agency released a statement following the developments. On April 2, King Kong by Starship spoke to ‘My Daily’ and said that she had indeed been expelled from her previous school due to school bullying. “It is true that Song Ha Yoon was forcibly transferred out of Banpo High School due to a school bullying case,” her agency said. However, the agency further claimed that the case had nothing to do with the recent bullying allegations and the accuser. Her agency clarified, “The case has nothing to do with the accuser. The actress has never met the accuser. We hesitated to reveal the fact that she was expelled due to the fact that her expulsion had nothing to do with the abuser. We are currently gathering evidence of defamation online internally.”
The K-drama actor was recently seen in ‘Marry My Husband’ in a negative role and the success of the drama led to a rise in her popularity. The actor has appeared in several other dramas including ‘Fight for My Way’ and ‘Devilish Joy’.
