Lee Sun-kyun, who is best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film ‘Parasite’, was found dead on December 27 in Seoul. According to Reuters, he was found unconscious inside a car in a park. His wife contacted the police after she found what appeared to be a suicide note.
According to Yonhap, Lee's wife found the note after he left the home.
DRUG CASE
Lee Sun-kyun had been in the news after he appeared for the investigation over illegal drug use allegations. He claimed to have mistakenly consumed drugs at a nightclub.
According to the news outlet Yonhap, he was suspected of using drugs like marijuana and ketamine with a hostess at a bar in Seoul. He claimed that while he did consume what she provided, he was unaware that they were illegal substances.
The hostess allegedly informed the police that he had used drugs at her residence on several occasions.
Police expressed regret over Lee's passing during their ongoing investigations.
Lee's agency, HODU&U Entertainment, said in a statement: ‘There is no way to contain the sorrow and despair. We respectfully ask that you refrain from spreading false facts based on speculation... so that [Lee's] final journey will not be unfair.’
