The half-yearly report for K-content proves 2024 so far has been a blessing for K-drama lovers. The second half promises an even better line-up, with many intriguing dramas starring fresh pairings on the horizon. One such much-anticipated K-drama is 'No Pain No Gain' which stars Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae in the leading roles. After dropping an intriguing teaser of the forthcoming romantic comedy, the makers have now announced that the tvN drama will stream on Prime Video for international viewers starting August 26. Prime Video shared the first official poster of the series featuring Shin Min Ah. The picture was captioned, "Son Hae Young is here to strike a deal of No Gain No Love Are you ready? (sic)." The poster features Shin Min Ah, dressed to the nines, striking a happy pose as she held a calculator in her hand which had 'Zero Loss' written on it.
The teaser begins with Son Hae Young (Shin Min Ah) attending a wedding. Taking money out of her wallet, she says, “Congratulatory gifts should be give-and-take, but I’ve just been giving.” She then cheekily reveals, “I don’t like taking any losses, and I don’t like giving either.” When asked what her name is, she boldly states, “Son Hae Young,” which can directly be translated to having zero losses.
The storyline follows Hae-yeong, played by Shin Min Ah, who orchestrates a fake wedding with Kim Ji-uk, a convenience store employee in her neighbourhood, to secure a promotion at her job. Known for being a model citizen, Ji Uk works night shifts at the convenience store and agrees to be Hae-yeong's fake groom. From the looks of it, the show promises to be a perfect blend of romance, drama, and humour, making it one of the most-anticipated shows for K-drama enthusiasts.
Set to premiere globally on Prime Video on August 26, episodes of No Gain No Love will air weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays. In Korea, the show will be available on tvN and the local streaming service TVING.
