A week after teasing his new single, 'SPOT', Zico has now dropped an exciting teaser of the upcoming track also featuring BLACKPINK's Jennie. The song will be out on April 26 at 6 p.m. KST (2:30 p.m. IST).
The teaser shows Jennie lending her enchanting vocals to the peppy beat, while the duo also share some goofy moments as they vibe to the music amidst the urban backdrop of the city. Both the K-pop stars shared the official MV teaser on their official Instagram handles.
Zico has finally unveiled the much-awaited MV teaser for his latest track, 'SPOT!'—a scintillating collaboration with global sensation Jennie of BLACKPINK. Despite her fleeting appearance in the teaser, Jennie managed to capture fans' attention with her captivating presence. Furthermore, fans have also been intrigued to see the 'Solo' singer collaborate with 'HYBE' for her first venture after parting ways with YG Entertainment.
For the uninitiated, Zico is the CEO and producer of KOZ Entertainment, a HYBE subsidiary. The unveiling of 'SPOT' with Jennie has further opened the possibility of more collaboration between the agency's artists and BLACKPINK members, inevitably inviting the discourse of a potential BTSXBLACKPINK association.
While Jennie has previously featured in BIGBANG member G-Dragon's 'BLACK' in 2013, the upcoming song would mark her first feature with a Korean artist since BLACKPINK's debut in 2015. Jennie has, however, featured with international artists. Her song 'One of the Girls' with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp from HBO's 'The Idol' debuted at No. 100 on Billboard U.S. streams and garnered 1.5 million radio audience impressions. She also collaborated with former BROCKHAMPTON member Matt Champion on 'Slow Motion'.
Recently, it was reported that Jennie would release her first studio album in June. However, her recently established agency, OA (The Odd Atelier), discarded the rumours, saying nothing has been finalised yet.
Since she departed from YG Entertainment for solo activities, fans have been anticipating Jennie's comeback. However, the singer has yet to confirm her return as a soloist.
