Actor Manoj Bharathiraja, son of renowned Tamil film director Bharathiraja, passed away at the age of 48 from a cardiac arrest on Tuesday.
The Nadigar Sangam (actors' association) confirmed the news on their X page, stating, "Director Bharathiraja's son Manoj K Bharathiraja passed away due to cardiac arrest."
Manoj entered the Tamil film industry as a lead actor in the movie "Taj Mahal," directed by his father. He later featured in films such as "Eera Nilam" and "Varushamellam Vasantham." More recently, Manoj had been taking on supporting roles in Tamil cinema.
In 2023, Manoj made his directorial debut with "Margazhi Thingal," a romantic drama starring his father, Bharathiraja. His most recent appearance was as a senior Entertainment journalist in Prime Video's "Snakes."
