Actor Adah Sharma, whose film 'The Kerala Story', directed by Sudipto Sen, was released on May 5, faced criticism online recently.
This happened when she responded to filmmaker Anand Kumar's tweet in which he wished her good luck, and congratulated the team for making a ‘courageous film’. Adah wrote, 'From one keralite to another ..romba sandosham thank u.' Several users were quick to point out that ‘Romba Sandosham’ is not a Malayalam expression.
Later, the actor clarified that 'My dad is a tamilian (he is no more now in body but remains alive in my mind) my mum is a Malayali. They always allowed me to have Tamil words seep into my Malayalam and vice versa with only love for both languages.'
The film has received mixed reviews from critics as well as audiences. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has called the film 'powerful and thought provoking'.
Later, Adah clarified that her parents let her learn and speak the two languages at home.
