Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has been nominated in two categories at the Golden Globe Awards - Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song for 'Naatu Naatu'.

Sharing the news on Twitter, the official handle of the Golden Globes wrote, 'Congratulations to the nominees for Best Picture - Non-English Language--All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Close, Decision to Leave and RRR.’ The official Twitter account of RRR retweeted the post.

The other tweet read, ‘Best Original Song – Motion Picture--Carolina, Taylor Swift (Where the Crawdads Sing), Ciao Papa, Guillermo del Toro & Roeban Katz (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), Hold My Hand, Lady Gaga and Bloodpop (Top Gun: Maverick), Lift Me Up, Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) Naatu Naatu, Kala Bhairava, MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj (RRR).’

‘RRR’ had recently been conferred with various awards. Composer MM Keeravani won Best Original Score at the Boston Society of Film Critics on Sunday night.

Taking to Twitter, Boston Society of Film Critics Circle wrote, ‘WINNER, Best Original Score: RRR (by M. M. Keeravani), Runner Up: WOMEN TALKING (by Hildur Guðnadóttir)’

This isn't the first win for the film in the US. ‘RRR’ won the Best International Film award at the Atlanta Film Critics Circle, and SS Rajamouli won the best director award at the New York Film Critics Circle.

‘RRR’, set in the 1920s pre-independent era, is based on the lives of two well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.  The film earned over ₹1100 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. Recently, it was re-released across several cities in the US as part of the Beyond Fest.
