Actor Allu Arjun scripted history on August 24 as he became the first Telugu actor to win the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the blockbuster 'Pushpa: The Rise'.
A video of him has surfaced online which shows him getting emotional on being announced the winner. Arjun celebrated the win with his family members and the film’s director Sukumar.
The actor shed tears of joy as his National Film Award was announced and the room was filled with cheer and his family members rejoiced with thunderous claps. Arjun’s father, well-known producer Allu Aravind, was also seen hugging the actor and getting emotional as everyone celebrated. The actor’s wife Sneha was also overjoyed.
Composer Devi Sri Prasad won the National Film Award for Best Music Director (Songs) for the Pushpa album.
‘Pushpa: The Rise’ became a pan-India phenomenon upon its release in December 2021. The film’s sequel, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, is currently in production and is expected to release in 2024.
Jr NTR and megastar Chiranjeevi took to social media to congratulate Allu Arjun on the big win.
