Samantha Ruth Prabhu had the best surprise planned for her fans on her birthday. The actor, on Sunday, took to Instagram to announce her new film, 'Bangaram'. Along with it, Sam also shared the first-look poster of her character from the film. The development comes months after the 'Yashoda' star announced her comeback following her seven-month hiatus due to myositis diagnosis in 2022.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu's fans were in for a surprise. On Sunday, the actor took to her Instagram account to announce her new film, 'Bangaram', and also shared her first-look poster from the film. Dropping the big announcement, she wrote, “Not everything has to be glitter to be golden.” #Bangaram @tralalamovingpictures. Starting soon.” In what can easily be termed her fiercest avatar yet, a saree-clad, blood-soaked Samantha is seen firing a double-barrel gun. 'Bangaram' will be produced under the actor's own banner, Tralala Moving Pictures.
Aside from 'Bangaram', Samantha also has 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' lined up. The show, an official Indian adaptation of the Russo Brothers' multi-series, stars Samantha as Honey. Created and directed by Raj and DK, the crime thriller also features Varun Dhawan.
Last month, Samantha opened up on the physical challenges she faced while shooting the series. While talking to her close friend and health coach, Alkesh Sharotri, Samantha said, "I had to finish 'Kushi' and shoot for 'Citadel' which is extremely physical. There's a lot of action involved. So it was very strenuous."
