‘KGF’ star Yash made headlines recently after reports claiming that he’s in talks to star as Dev in ‘Brahmastra 2’ surfaced online. Now, director Ayan Mukerji in an interview with India Today has clarified these reports. Ayan said that he loves Kannada superstar Yash, but he has not been approached for the role in the film.

‘I love Yash. It would be great if he plays Dev. No, I am joking,’ he said.

The filmmaker also addressed rumours that Ranveer Singh is playing Dev in the film and said that while he’s come across the rumours, he cannot comment this yet. He said the fun of Dev’s story is that it will come at the right time.

Following the release of ‘Brahmastra’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, there have been many speculations that Ranveer will play Dev in the sequel and these were further fuelled after Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra made an accidental slip and revealing that the actor had been roped in.

‘I hope that the learnings of this film (Brahmastra Part One) enable them (the makers) to make a kickass part two with of course Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone,’ she said.

Karan Johar also indirectly confirmed Ranveer’s role in ‘Brahmastra’ in September this year. During an Instagram live, a social media user asked Karan who is Dev in Ayan Mukerji’s Astraverse. Karan, who seemingly knew the person, replied, ‘You already have the inside info you don’t need to ask who is playing Dev.’
