A day before Vijay Thalapathy’s 48th birthday, the title and the first-look poster of his forthcoming film was unveiled on Tuesday. The actor took to Twitter to make the announcement. The film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, which was tentatively called ‘Thalapathy 66,’ has now been titled ‘Varisu.’
Vijay looks classy in the formal attire and his somber expression in the poster perfectly matches with tagline which reads, ‘The Boss Returns.’
Rashmika Mandanna, who will star opposite Vijay in the film, also shared it the first-look poster on her Twitter handle and wrote, ‘So excited for the first look!’

‘Varisu,’ which is being shot in Hyderabad, is Telugu director Vamshi’s first Tamil project.
The film is being produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the Sri Venkateshwara Creations production banner.
‘Varisu’ also stars Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, and Jayasudha in key roles. It is expected to release in theatres during Sankranti/Pongal festival next year.
