Actor Bala, who is a known name in the Malayalam film industry, was hospitalised in Kochi on Tuesday due to liver-related illness. According to reports, he consulted with the doctors at the hospital a week ago and was advised to undergo a liver transplant.

Members of the film fraternity such as Unni Mukundan, N.M Badusha, and Vinusha Mohan, visited Bala to enquire about his health.

Bala is popular Tamil filmmaker Siva’s brother. He has also worked in a few Tamil films.
Bala was last seen in the movie ‘Shefeekkinte Santhosham’, directed by Anup Pandalam. Some of the most anticipated films of the actor include ‘Bilal’, ‘Sthalam’, and ‘My Dear Machans’.

In November last year, Bala opened up about a mistake he committed 12 years ago in an interview, and said, ‘I pray that no one goes through what I went through. I made a mistake 12 years ago. I didn’t listen to what my father said that day. Later, God corrected me and I still didn’t learn. I can’t reveal the mistake but knowingly or unknowingly, I still feel guilty about it even today. Now, my commitment is to God alone.’
