Superstar Mammootty is embroiled in a controversy over his remark on director Jude Anthany Joseph at the teaser launch of the forthcoming survival drama ‘2018’. During his speech, Mammootty said that Jude might not have much hair on his head, but he is an intelligent man.

The veteran actor intended to appreciate the work of the filmmaker, but his remark did not go well with a section of social media users. Several people criticised him saying his words were nothing but body shaming.

Mammootty has now posted a regret note on his Facebook page and thanked his fans for pointing out the mistake.

‘Dear all, I am sorry that some of you were offended by the enthusiastic words used by me to praise director Jude Antony at the trailer launch event of the '2018' movie that happened yesterday. Further care will be taken not to repeat such practices. Thanks for all the reminders,’ read Mammootty's post.

Joseph has also defended the superstar, saying that his words were twisted. He also joked that the concerned people should criticize Bangalore corporation's water supply and various shampoo brands for his hair loss.
