Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram has been admitted to Kauvery hospital in Chennai after complaining of uneasiness. According to India Today sources, the actor underwent angioplasty and he is now stable. Vikram is likely to be discahrged from hospital today.
Vikram has reportedly informed 'Ponniyin Selvan' team that he wouldn't be attending the teaser launch and needs rest for a couple of days. He will attend the audio launch of his upcoming film, 'Cobra,' which is slated to happen on July 11.
The first part of 'Ponniyin Selvan' will release in theatres on September 30.
The first-look posters of Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya, Trisha and Karthi were unveiled recently. 'Ponniyin Selvan' also stars Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The historical drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1995 novel of the same name.
Chiyaan Vikram last featured in Karthik Subbaraj's 'Mahaan.'
Apart from 'Ponniyin Selvan,' his film 'Cobra,' directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, is scheduled for release later this year. He also has a film with director Pa Ranjith, which is yet to go on floors.
