Rajinikanth fans rejoice 'Lal Salaam' release at Chennai theater | Watch

'Lal Salaam', starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, premiered on February 9, with a cameo by veteran actor Rajinikanth. Thalaivar's fans celebrated the release enthusiastically at Chennai's Rohini Silverscreens.

Multiple videos showcasing fans' celebrations of the release of 'Lal Salaam' have emerged. Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the clips depict fans worshipping a large cut-out poster of the superstar and distributing food packets outside the theatre.

A large flower-adorned poster of Rajinikanth graced the exterior of Rohini theatre, where devoted fans offered prayers to Thalaivar before the film's premiere.

Aishwarya's former husband, actor Dhanush, expressed his support for the movie ahead of its eagerly anticipated release, stating, ‘Lal Salaam from today (sic).’

On the auspicious occasion, Rajinikanth too shared a photo with his daughter and offered prayers for the success of the film.

‘My anbu salaam to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to almighty that your movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success,’ he wrote in Tamil.

About ‘Lal Salaam’

'Lal Salaam', a sports drama produced by Subaskara Allirajah of Lyca Productions, boasts a stellar cast including Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Rajinikanth, Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, and Thambi Ramaiah. Additionally, cricketing legend Kapil Dev makes a cameo appearance.

Vishnu Rangasamy contributed to the story, co-wrote the screenplay with Aishwarya, and handled cinematography duties. The film's technical crew also includes composer AR Rahman and editor Pravin Baaskar.

In a recent Hindustan Times interview, Aishwarya shared her experience directing her father as a 'masterclass'. She also praised AR Rahman, referring to him as a 'fakir' symbolizing truth and sincerity.

Aishwarya said, ‘Directing Appa (father) was something I never expected in my life to start with, it was a blessing. Every single day of working with him was a mini masterclass – how he handles himself on set and as a professional, artist in the industry. His dedication, devotion and seriousness about work, even at this age and time of his life, is something I think everyone in the industry should learn.’
