After Prashanth Neel announced ‘Salaar’, speculations have been rife about a potential crossover with Yash starrer ‘KGF’. While the creators stayed silent, singer Theertha Subhash recently hinted at Yash's character Rocky Bhai having a role in the action thriller.

During a media interaction post winning a singing competition in Kerala, Theertha unintentionally mentioned that Yash would be a part of ‘Salaar’, which made many believe that she confirmed his cameo in the film like they had expected.

Theertha promptly addressed her statement on social media, aiming to dispel rumours and clarify any confusion.
The young singer wrote, ‘I have seen KGF many times. My father mentioned to me that the team of Salaar was the same ones who made KGF. So, I assumed that Yash uncle will also be in Salaar.’ Her parents also confirmed that she only got it wrong because she kept hearing Yash’s name while talking about ‘KGF’.

There have also been rumours that ‘Salaar’ is a remake of Prashanth’s own film ‘Ugramm’, which also saw two friends. Producer Vijay recently busted these rumours stating that the film was a completely original story and not a remake.

The film was supposed to hit screens in September but its release was postponed to December 22 due to pending post-production work. The film’s release date was picked based on astrology.

'Salaar' unfolds in Khansaar, witnessing a power shift from father to son. Amidst a planned coup against the family, the son enlists his childhood friend's aid to restore city tranquillity.

‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ will clash at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Dunki’, which will release in theatres a day earlier. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles.
